At last a male contraceptive jab!

At last a male contraceptive jab has been developed and is all set to be trialled - and Sydney men will be the first guinea pigs!
The new male contraceptive which has been developed by researchers at Concord Hospital’s Anzac Research Institute is a world first and will offer men control over their own fertility.

Study links smoking with most male cancer deaths

The association between tobacco smoke and cancer deaths - beyond lung cancer deaths - has been strengthened by a recent study from a UC Davis researcher, suggesting that increased tobacco control efforts could save more lives than previously estimated.
The epidemiological analysis, published online in BMC Cancer, linked smoking to more than 70 percent of the cancer death burden among Massachusetts men in 2003. This percentage is much (more…)

Swimming can cut men’s risk of dying in half

A new study shows that swimming cuts men’s risk of dying by about 50% compared to runners, walkers and sedentary peers.
The University of South Carolina study led by Dr. Steven Blair evaluated comprehensive physical exams and behavioral surveys from thousands of people who were enrolled in the Aerobics Center Longitudinal Study (ACLS) over the last 32 years. The results were presented (more…)

Alcohol makes men better at sex!

According to a study of Australian men alcohol improves rather than damages a man’s sexual performance, a finding which is contrary to widely held belief that alcohol consumption can cause erectile dysfunction, or ‘brewer’s droop’.
The study of 1,580 Australian by researchers from Western Australia has found that men who were drinkers had up to 30% fewer problems than ‘teetotallers’.
